BayView Restaurant is looking for a dedicated and organized Stewarding Supervisor to oversee our stewarding team and ensure a clean, efficient, and well-stocked kitchen. The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for maintaining hygiene standards, managing cleaning schedules, and supporting kitchen operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the stewarding team, ensuring cleaning and sanitation tasks are completed efficiently and according to BayView standards.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness in all kitchen areas, including dishwashing stations, storage areas, and food preparation spaces.
- Manage inventory of kitchen supplies, cleaning products, and equipment, placing orders as needed and controlling stock usage.
- Train and guide team members on proper cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and food safety protocols.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, ensuring that all areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly and thoroughly.
- Inspect and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
- Enforce health and safety standards to create a safe working environment for all kitchen staff.
- Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations, assisting in setup or breakdown during peak hours.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Stewarding Supervisor or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning products, procedures, and equipment operation.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with an eye for detail and thoroughness.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations relevant to food and beverage operations.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and lifting equipment.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and order placement is a plus.
