BayView Restaurant is looking for a hardworking and reliable Steward to join our kitchen team. The Steward will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, washing dishes, and assisting with basic kitchen organization. This role is crucial in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and remains clean, efficient, and well-organized. Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and other kitchen equipment efficiently and to high standards of cleanliness.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, including floors, counters, and storage areas.
- Assist in organizing and storing kitchen supplies, ensuring that items are easily accessible for the kitchen team.
- Dispose of kitchen waste properly and according to health and safety regulations.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of kitchen equipment during opening and closing.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff as needed, helping to transport and organize ingredients or supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and compliant kitchen environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Steward or Dishwasher in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage tasks efficiently.
- Physical ability to handle tasks that involve standing, bending, and lifting.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to support the team as needed.
- Basic understanding of health and safety guidelines in a kitchen setting is a plus.
