Job Description
The Night Manager is the senior manager on duty overnight, overseeing Front Office, security, and all operational departments. You will handle late-night arrivals and departures, resolve guest concerns, balance the day’s revenues, and coordinate emergency or safety issues—maintaining Gewan’s exacting standards around the clock.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise night operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Security.
- Conduct late check-ins/outs, VIP escorts, and room moves, ensuring seamless service.
- Act as the primary contact for guest complaints, medical matters, or incidents during the night.
- Oversee night audit: verify postings, balance revenue, and prepare financial summaries for Finance.
- Patrol public areas and back-of-house to monitor safety, security, and cleanliness.
- Coordinate emergency procedures (fire alarms, medical, evacuation) in line with hotel protocols.
- Brief the morning leadership team on overnight events, maintenance issues, and guest feedback.
- Train and coach night staff, upholding grooming, service, and cash-handling standards.
Requirements
- 3 + years’ supervisory experience in Front Office, Night Audit, or Duty Management within upscale or luxury hotels.
- Strong knowledge of PMS systems (Opera preferred) and night-audit processes.
- Proven ability to make quick, calm decisions in emergency or high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and guest-relations skills.
- Organised and detail-oriented, with solid understanding of hotel security and safety protocols.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
