Gewan Hotels & Resorts is expanding its luxury portfolio across Egypt. To craft a distinctive culinary identity and deliver exceptional dining, bar, banqueting, and in-room-dining experiences, we are recruiting a visionary Director of Food & Beverage to lead all F&B operations.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of F&B will set strategy, drive financial performance, and inspire a culture of innovation and service excellence across every restaurant, lounge, bar, and event venue in the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the F&B Vision
Craft and implement a clear strategy for all restaurants, bars, lounges, banqueting, and in-room dining, ensuring each outlet delivers a cohesive yet distinctive guest experience. - Drive Financial Performance
Own the full F&B P&L: build annual budgets, engineer menus, manage cost of sales and labour, and consistently achieve or exceed revenue, RevPASH, and profitability targets. - Concept & Brand Development
Refresh existing venues and launch new ones by curating creative themes, partnering with acclaimed chefs or mixologists when relevant, and keeping offerings aligned with market trends. - Uphold Operational Excellence
Audit and refine SOPs, service sequences, and HACCP compliance; resolve day-to-day operational challenges swiftly to maintain flawless quality, consistency, and safety. - Lead and Develop the Team
Recruit, mentor, and succession-plan a high-performing brigade of outlet managers, chefs, and service professionals; foster a culture of learning, engagement, and guest-centricity. - Elevate Guest Satisfaction
Analyse guest feedback, online reviews, and mystery-diner reports; implement action plans that enhance service delivery, personalise experiences, and boost loyalty scores. - Collaborate on Sales & Marketing
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Digital teams to design promotions, PR activations, and social-media storytelling that drive covers, average check, and brand awareness. - Manage Supplier Relations & Sustainability
Negotiate with key vendors, champion local sourcing, and lead initiatives that reduce food waste, optimise energy usage, and support Gewan’s ESG commitments. - Support Pre-Opening or Refresh Projects
For any new outlets, renovations, or seasonal pop-ups, oversee critical paths, OS&E selection, menu tastings, and staff training to ensure a flawless launch.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ senior leadership experience heading Food & Beverage operations in a single luxury hotel or upscale lifestyle property.
- Demonstrated success in boosting F&B revenue, optimising costs, and launching award-winning concepts.
- Strong analytical skills and full P&L ownership experience.
- Expert knowledge of HACCP, beverage trends, event dining, and guest-experience design.
- Inspirational leadership style with proven ability to develop and retain talent.
- Bachelor’s in Hospitality/F&B Management (MBA or WSET/CMS certifications are a plus).
- Excellent command of English; additional languages advantageous.
