Gewan Hotels & Resorts is elevating luxury hospitality on Egypt’s North Coast in New Al Alamin. To strengthen our growing culinary brigade, we are seeking a motivated Demi Chef de Partie who can support senior chefs across hot, cold, or pastry sections and help deliver dishes that meet Gewan’s exacting standards.

Job Description

The Demi Chef de Partie assists in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items within an assigned kitchen station, maintains mise-en-place, and upholds the highest levels of hygiene, consistency, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to established recipes and plating guidelines.
  • Set up and maintain a clean, organised workstation with complete mise-en-place.
  • Assist the Chef de Partie in daily production, service, and quality checks.
  • Follow portion-control, stock-rotation, and waste-reduction practices.
  • Uphold HACCP and Gewan hygiene protocols at every stage of production.
  • Communicate effectively with other sections to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Take part in training sessions and actively seek opportunities to improve skills.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years’ experience as Commis I or Demi CDP in a luxury hotel, resort, or fine-dining restaurant.
  • Sound knowledge of basic hot-kitchen, cold-kitchen, or pastry techniques (station assignment based on experience).
  • Strong knife skills, product knowledge, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain organised and calm during high-volume service.
  • Understanding of food-safety regulations and HACCP principles.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
