We are assembling a talented culinary brigade and invite passionate culinarians to join us as Commis I, supporting senior chefs in delivering exceptional dishes across our restaurants, lounges, and banqueting venues.
Job Description
As a Commis I you will assist with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items in your assigned kitchen (hot, cold, or pastry). You will maintain impeccable mise-en-place, uphold strict hygiene standards, and learn from experienced chefs while contributing to memorable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients, sauces, and garnishes according to recipes and quality standards.
- Cook dishes in collaboration with Demi CDP and Chef de Partie during service.
- Set up and keep an organised, clean workstation with complete mise-en-place.
- Follow portion control, stock rotation, and waste-reduction practices.
- Adhere to HACCP and Gewan hygiene protocols at every stage of production.
- Assist with daily cleaning schedules and equipment maintenance.
- Actively participate in training sessions and continuously improve culinary skills.
- Communicate efficiently with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service flow.
Requirements
- 1–2 years’ experience as Commis in a hotel, resort, or fine-dining restaurant.
- Basic knowledge of hot-kitchen, cold-kitchen, or pastry techniques.
- Strong knife skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to remain organised and focused during high-volume service.
- Understanding of food-safety regulations and HACCP principles.
- Positive attitude and flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
