BayView Restaurant is seeking a skilled and creative Baker to join our team. As our Baker, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality baked goods, including breads, pastries, and desserts, that complement BayView’s unique menu. The ideal candidate should have a passion for baking, an eye for detail, and experience in working with different ingredients and baking techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, desserts, and other baked items according to BayView’s recipes and quality standards.
- Experiment with new recipes and assist in developing seasonal or specialty baked goods that align with the BayView menu.
- Ensure all baked goods are fresh, consistent, and visually appealing, maintaining high standards of presentation.
- Monitor inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, ensuring that items are fresh and replenished as needed.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment, following proper safety and cleaning procedures.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate orders and fulfill guest requests in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Adjust recipes and baking times as needed to accommodate variations in equipment or ingredients, ensuring product consistency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar role in a restaurant, bakery, or hotel setting.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment operation.
- Creativity and attention to detail, especially in decorating and presenting baked goods.
- Ability to work early mornings and manage time effectively in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Good organizational skills, with the ability to keep track of multiple baking tasks and orders.
- Physical ability to stand, lift, and work in a high-heat environment for extended periods.
- Certification in food handling or baking is preferred but not required.
