Job Description
The Assistant Restaurant Manager partners with the Restaurant Manager to oversee front-of-house operations—coaching the service team, maintaining Gewan standards, and ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless, memorable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily service, guest flow, and table allocations to maximise covers without compromising experience.
- Coach and motivate servers, hosts, and bartenders on sequence of service, product knowledge, and upselling.
- Monitor guest feedback, resolve issues promptly, and drive high satisfaction scores.
- Assist with scheduling, labour control, stock requisitions, and end-of-shift reports.
- Support cost-of-sales management—accurate billing, void control, and cash-handling procedures.
- Uphold Gewan hygiene, safety, and grooming standards at all times.
- Coordinate with Culinary, Bar, and Events teams on menu changes, promotions, and special functions.
- Step in for the Restaurant Manager during their absence, ensuring uninterrupted operations.
Requirements
- 2 + years’ supervisory experience in an upscale or luxury-hotel restaurant.
- Proven ability to motivate teams and deliver outstanding guest service.
- Working knowledge of POS/reservation systems and basic F&B cost control.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Energetic, hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality excellence.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
