Gewan Hotels & Resorts is introducing a flagship luxury address in Cairo. Our people-first culture underpins every guest experience, and we are looking for an energetic Assistant Human Resources Manager to help drive recruitment, colleague engagement, and day-to-day HR operations while upholding Egyptian labor law and Gewan brand standards.

Role Overview

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Assistant Human Resources Manager supports the full employee life cycle—talent acquisition, onboarding, HRIS administration, learning & development, and colleague relations—ensuring consistent, high-quality HR service across the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding
    • Post vacancies, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, draft offers, and deliver orientation sessions.
  • HR Administration
    • Maintain accurate personnel files, visa/ID records, and HRIS data; prepare monthly HR metrics (headcount, turnover, leave).
  • Employee Relations & Welfare
    • Address colleague enquiries, support disciplinary/grievance processes, and help plan engagement and CSR events.
  • Learning & Development
    • Track mandatory training, schedule courses, and update training matrices.
  • Payroll & Benefits Support
    • Compile payroll inputs, verify attendance data, and liaise with Finance on deductions and benefits.
  • Compliance & Audits
    • Ensure practices align with Egyptian labour law and Gewan SOPs; assist with internal/external audits.
  • Backup Leadership
    • Act as HR Manager on duty during their absence, representing HR at department-head briefings and hotel committees.

Requirements

  • 3 + years’ experience in HR administration or officer role within upscale/luxury hotels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; CIPD/SHRM certification a plus.
  • Good command of English (spoken & written).
  • Working knowledge of Egyptian labour legislation and visa/social-insurance processes.
  • Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems and strong MS Excel skills.
  • Proven organisational skills, confidentiality, and an approachable, service-oriented mindset.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings for staff events or audits.
