Role Overview
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all HVAC systems to ensure optimal guest comfort and energy-efficient operation across guestrooms, public areas, kitchens, and back-of-house.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, diagnose, and repair VRF/VRV, split, ducted, package units, FCUs, AHUs, exhaust & fresh-air fans.
- Perform PPM on filters, belts, bearings, coils, drain pans/lines, motors, sensors, and thermostats; update CMMS.
- Check and record system parameters (pressures, temperatures, amperage); calibrate controls and thermostats.
- Carry out refrigerant handling: leak detection, evacuation, charging, and brazing in line with safety/environmental standards.
- Clean and chemical-wash condenser/evaporator coils; ensure proper condensate drainage.
- Support chiller/heat-pump operations (where applicable) and liaise with contractors for major works.
- Respond to guest room and outlet breakdowns within SLA; complete clear handovers and documentation.
- Follow HSE/PPE, lock-out/tag-out, and safe electrical practices; keep workshops and plant rooms tidy.
- Monitor spare parts and consumables; raise purchase requests and maintain stock levels.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ HVAC experience in hotels/facilities or commercial buildings.
- Hands-on knowledge of VRF/VRV, split/ducted systems, FCUs/AHUs, ventilation, and basic BMS readings.
- Skills in brazing/welding, refrigerant recovery/charging, electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.
- Able to read schematics and use HVAC instruments (manifold gauges, clamp meter, leak detector).
- Basic English for work orders and safety briefings; strong teamwork and customer focus.
- Physically fit; flexible for shifts, emergency call-outs, weekends, and public holidays.
- Diploma/Trade certificate in HVAC/Mechanical/Electrical is an advantage.
