About the Role
Perched on Egypt’s spectacular North Coast, Gewan Hotels & Resorts – Egypt pairs beachfront views with contemporary luxury. Our restaurants, lounges, and banquet spaces need a hands-on Food & Beverage Supervisor to keep service flowing smoothly, coach the team, and deliver the flawless experiences guests expect from a five-star resort.
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Leadership – Run pre-service briefings, assign sections, and manage guest flow to maintain seamless, on-time operations.
- Team Coaching – Train servers, hosts, and runners on sequence of service, menu knowledge, and upselling techniques; provide real-time feedback.
- Quality Control – Conduct spot checks on plate presentation, bar mise-en-place, hygiene logs, and equipment cleanliness; correct deviations immediately.
- Guest Engagement – Greet key tables, resolve issues on the spot, and capture feedback to boost satisfaction scores and online reviews.
- Inventory & Cash Handling – Verify requisitions, track breakages/wastage, balance POS cashouts, and complete shift reports accurately.
- Health & Safety – Enforce HACCP, personal-hygiene, and grooming standards; coordinate with Stewarding and Engineering for upkeep and compliance.
- Event Support – Liaise with Banquets and Culinary teams to execute weddings, conferences, and VIP functions according to BEOs.
- Act-Up Duty – Cover the Outlet Manager when required, ensuring uninterrupted high-quality service.
Requirements
- 2 + years’ experience as Senior Waiter/Captain or F&B Supervisor in an upscale or luxury hotel or restaurant.
- Proven ability to lead a multicultural team during high-volume service.
- Working knowledge of POS systems, basic inventory control, and cash-handling procedures.
- Sound understanding of HACCP and front-of-house service standards.
- Good command of English (spoken and written) to communicate confidently with international guests.
- Professional appearance, strong problem-solving skills, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
